You can claim a refund for any remaining months of road tax directly from the DVLA after your vehicle has been scrapped.

A COD is issued by an Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF) once your car has been scrapped. This confirms the vehicle has been destroyed legally and ensures you’re no longer responsible for it.

An ELV is a vehicle that is no longer safe to drive or economically repair. These are processed in an environmentally friendly way through approved recycling facilities.
